We are pleased to announce our involvement as providers of E-Learning platform services using the open-source VLE Moodle. Hosting costs from other providers were prohibative, hence Academus’s choice to use WebsContent Services in the UK.

We are proud to be involved in the design, development, customisation, hosting and support of one of the most exciting E-learning projects in the UK. Using the open-source VLE Moodle, hosting of the Learning Management System (LMS) is just a small part of the involvment that WebsContent is having in making Academus Virtual School’s a success.

Academus is one of the first providers of ‘real school’ delivery delivered entirely via a virtual learning interface offering a range of UK National Curriculum courses, alternative provision, independent school home-learning aswell as A-level and BTEC VIth Form courses.

Lessons are delivered live via webinar (video conference software) and courses, student enrolment, achievement and attendance managed within an E-learning environment using Moodle. Hosting of the Learning Management System (LMS) is on WebsContent’s high performance scalable virtual private servers.

The potential market for fully accredited virtual schools is endless and certainly a company to keep an eye on.
